Cape Vidal

Only 32 kilometres from St. Lucia, Cape Vidal is reknowned for its snorkelling and swimming. At Mission Rocks a hike in a northerly direction along the beach for approximately 45 minutes will bring you to "Bats Cave" where hundreds of Egyptian fruit bats can be seen clinging to the ceiling of the cave.

Upon prior arrangement, a professional KZN Wildlife guide can accompany you on the ever popular Mfabeni Hike. The trail leads through dune forest to two fresh water lakes where you may view hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds from a hide. Since the reintroduction of elephants on the 10th August into the Eastern Shores, the Mfabeni Hike can no longer be attempted on your own.
